Before & After

We are proud to show you a few airplanes that have come through our hangar for repair the last couple of years.  Hampton Aviation, Inc. has the versatility to repair a wide variety of aircraft ranging from fabric airplanes to old warbirds, from restoration to repair, from minute issues to extensive damage.  We've even had the honor to work on a couple of celebrity planes.

Citabria 7ECA

This Citabria was way overdue for restorations.  After dissecting this fabric beauty we discovered that several wooden ribs were damaged, which was unexpected.  The new ribs were handcrafted to FAA standards and installed.  The aircraft was completely recovered and restored to better than original condition.  95% of all work was done on site by our crew including the majority of the paint.  You can see her the day she left in the picture below ready to fly and ready for Sun-N-Fun.

2005 Cessna 206

The 206 that you see pictured here experienced extensive damage after an engine failure on take off.  The fuselage, which was also twisted at the cargo door, right hand main gear and nose gear, right hand horizontal stabilizer, elevator tip, wing and aileron, left hand strut, the engine exhaust and the right hand top engine cowl were all damaged during the accident.  After a 'hospital stay' with us this airplane is up and flying and is in better than new condition!  You would never guess that this bird had received such injuries!

North American T-6G

Guess who the famous combat/test pilot is who had a mishap in this T-6G?  The pilot was flying this old warbird at the Tribute to Aces Symposium & Fly-in in 2003.  You can read more about this event at www.aviationautographs.com/Tribute.aspx.  Things didn't go exactly as planned and the airplane veered off the runway and crashed into the tree line below the runway.  We purchased this airplane as a restoration project and finished repairs in early 2006.  When we placed it for sale it was actually purchased back by the origninal owners, who were extremely pleased to have their 'baby' back.  You can read more about their love for this old plane at www.aviationautographs.com/NewsCurrentEvents.aspx.  The site has pictures as well as links to the accident reports from the incident.  The picture below shows it back to it's origninal beauty before the owners left with it.

Beech 95-C55

This beautiful red Baron belongs to the country/western singer, Mickey Gilley, who experienced a gear failure in 2004.  The landing hurt the right and left hand flap, the left hand engine exhaust stacks, antennas, gear door and mainly the belly of the fuselage.  Like most incidents like this, the props had to be replaced and prop strike inspections performed.  Mr. Gilley was able to come pick up his completed Baron only a few weeks after we received it.  You can see the proud singer below posing with Fred and Vernon Hampton the day he came to retrieve his aircraft.

Cessna 195

This Cessna 195 Sun-N-Fun Grand Champion was restored by us a few years ago and subsequently suffered a ground loop.  Although extensively damaged, it was repaired back to it's previous show quality.

Beech A36

We have repaired a lot of Bonanzas over the years and this is a fine example of an A36 that was damaged in Florida.  Along with the extensive repairs back to new condition, this plane got a beautiful new paint job.  Check out this Bonanza on our Aircraft Sales page.
